As a part of a drive to ensure road safety, Castel Malawi on 6 April 2016, donated 30 reflective vests to Ndirande Police station. Receiving the vests, Officer in Charge of the station, Assistant Commissioner of Police McDonald Mazonga, thanked Castel Malawi for the gesture, saying the donation would help to keep officers who work on the roads safe. “Our officers need to be visible on the roads and before they talk about road safety to road users, they too need to ensure that they are safe. The reflective vests help with visibility and drivers can spot police officers working on the roads easily,” he said. Castel Malawi supports Malawi Police Service on road safety and don’t drink and drive initiatives under the company’s Drive Responsibly Program.
Under drive responsibly, Castel Malawi has supported the installation of barrier gates in Mzuzu (Lusangazi Roadblock), Bua, Dowa turnoff, Chingeni and Bvumbwe. Aside from increasing visibility of the roadblock at these points, the roadblocks also encourage responsibility among drivers through Drive Responsibly Branding
